The moment of truth...

In 2001, at the young age of 27, Darla Sanders was faced with tragic news: she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. At the time, she weighed 130 pounds but because of steroids and other medications she took to treat her cancer, Darla reached 280 pounds—gaining 150 pounds in eight years!

“I was devastated and I was so depressed with the news. Reaching my highest of 280 pounds, I had the realization that I was going to be fat for the rest of my life. I had a membership to the gym but I never went. I was very self-conscious and at that point, I thought to myself—“I’m just going to be fat and I will have to deal with it.”

Turning point and losing 51.5 pounds in 90-days

Years have passed and Darla was still unsatisfied with her weight gain. Although she was down to 256 pounds during Christmas in 2008, she was ready for a new chapter in her life.
